In conjunction with the telecommunications parks around the school, Far Eastern Memorial Hospital, the many care centers in New Taipei City, and the development of science parks in Zhonghe, Yonghe, Neihu, and Tucheng, the College of Healthcare & Management incorporates the resources of the four-year program under the Department of Marketing and Distribution Management, Department of Industrial Management, Department of Information Management, Department of Healthcare Administration, Department of Nursing, as well as the two-year program under the Department of Nursing to develop the College's "operations technology management", "Human factors and ergonomics and industrial safety", "creative marketing", "3D virtual mall display", "cloud smart services", "medical institution management", and "clinical nursing".

 

The College of Nursing and Healthcare Administration is closely linked in teaching and research to the Far Eastern affiliated companies. In terms of internships, the Department of Marketing makes arrangements for students to carry out internships at Far Eastern Department Stores and A.mart. The Department of Nursing and the Department of Healthcare Administration arrange for students to go to Far Eastern Memorial Hospital and other relevant medical institutions for internships. The Department of Information Management arranges for students to carry out summer and in-semester internships at Electronic Commerce, the Information Service Office of Far Eastern International Bank, and Far EasTone Telecommunications.

 

In terms of the curriculum, medical doctors, nurses, and healthcare administration directors of Far Eastern Memorial Hospital are invited to come teach and share practical experience, and to carry out course matching according to their background and expertise. The Department of Industrial Management offers management case analysis, human resource management, and health management. The Department of Nursing supports basic medical science, collaborative teaching in practical courses, and clinical practice guidance. The Department of Healthcare Administration offers anatomy and physiology, preventive medicine, medical terminology, health management, hospital clinical rotation, new knowledge of medical high-tech applications, introduction to medicine, medical marketing management, prevention and treatment of infectious diseases, and health promotion theories and practices. These are incorporated with the abundant resources of the enterprise to carry out relevant research and internships. Furthermore, following closely to the latest industry trend, cultivate in-depth knowledge and clinical expertise in the medical field to implement the teaching philosophy of "integration of theory and practice" for seamless connection to employment, and conduct employment satisfaction tracking counseling.

 

In order to support the key development of school affairs, the College of Healthcare & Management focuses on the two emerging fields of "artificial intelligence and the Internet of Things" and "long-term care and biomedical electronics". In terms of advanced professional curriculum planning, nine course features are provided by the Department of Marketing and Distribution Management, the Department of Industrial Management, the Department of Information Management, and the Department of Healthcare Administration in accordance with the needs of industry transformation. These nine course features are "Creative Marketing Direction", "Smart Distribution Direction", "Corporate Management Decision-making Module", "Work Flow Management Module", "Cloud Information Service Module", "Smart Value-Added Service Module", "Medical Institution Management ", "Healthcare Management", and "Health Information Management". In addition to the basic nursing professional courses offered by the Department of Nursing, there are also advanced courses related to emergency and critical care nursing, elderly care, and long-term care, which can enhance employability. Furthermore, the College has also carried out planning for important laboratories in line with the industry-academia research and development trend. It is hoped that through supporting measures, it can enhance staff teaching, and research and development capabilities, as well as the resource sharing, pooling, and co-achievement in various fields, in order to achieve students' professional expertise and ability to be "employed right after graduating".

Industry collaborative teaching:

Industry collaborative teaching closely links industry and academic practices to teaching. Teachers and course teaching fully complement each other and brings in industry experience. By bringing industry experts to the school for collaborative teaching, students can learn about the workplace and the employment skills required by the industry.

 

Industry-Academia Innovation Course:

The planning of the industry-academia innovation course is to implement the results of industry-academia cooperation in teaching. The process or results of industry-academia collaboration is added to the course content to introduce the main application examples and reflect the principles of the curriculum, so that the learning content of students is closer to industry needs, in order to enhance the students' employability competitiveness.

 

Practical Course Teaching:

To reduce the amount of time it takes to become familiarized with the workplace and accumulate workplace experience. Explore the future direction of career development through work-tryouts to understand your potential and direction of interest in advance, and supplement learning gaps in order to cultivate employability, as well as the attitude of workplace ethics and professionalism.

 

Promote organizational and management programs and review professional cross-disciplinary modules at all times

Guided by the concepts of "holistic education" and "humanistic care", the College adopts the Management By Objectives (MBO) approach. Through the thorough discussions on organization and management paradigm shifts in departmental meetings and college affairs meetings, the perimeter (locus) of the College's research topics (focus) have been determined and it was decided that the "organization and management program" will be established in response to changes in the industry environment, as well as students' learning needs.
